Flowers in Fashion

Flowers in Fashion

This weekend I went to the Met Museum to see their show Manus x Machina, Fashion in an Age of Technology. It addresses the convergence of handmade and machine-made in fashion. They had rooms devoted to various techniques used in haute couture including embroidery and pleating. The materials used in the gowns were diverse; ranging from silks to scuba knits and 3D printed plastic forms.

Of course I couldn’t help noticing an underlying floral theme that ran through the exhibit. It’s a stunning show, whether you are a plant nerd, or a fashion geek. It runs until 9/5/16.
